Slowburn makes candles for people who work too much — little rituals that signal to your brain that the day is, finally, done. Pour. Strike a match. Breathe.
Clean US-grown soy wax with cotton wicks. 50–70 hours of quiet per jar.
Phthalate-free fragrance and real essential oils. Nothing that smells like a car wash.
Poured in batches of 40 in a small studio in Vermont. Never warehoused for months.
We started Slowburn because we were terrible at stopping. The work was always there, the laptop always open, the day never quite ending.
So we built a ritual we could trust: light a candle, and the workday is over. The flame is the period at the end of the sentence. When it's lit, you're off the clock — and the smell tells your whole body to believe it.

We make candles in Vermont, in small batches, for people whose brains don't have an off switch.
In 2019, Mara was a nurse working doubles and Theo was a designer who answered emails at midnight. Neither of us knew how to clock out. The work just bled into the night until the night was gone.
One winter we started a stupid little rule: when the workday is done, light a candle. No more email after the flame. It sounds small. It changed everything. The smell became a signal — to our bodies, not just our calendars — that we were allowed to rest.
We couldn't find candles we loved, so we learned to pour our own in a borrowed kitchen. Now we make twelve scents in a tiny studio outside Burlington, in batches of forty, with soy wax and cotton wicks and zero shortcuts.
Slowburn isn't really about candles. It's about the period at the end of the day. We just hide it in a jar.
